Chief Judge Sidney R. Thomas of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit announced today the appointment of Portland attorney David Walter Hercher to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon. 

Mr. Hercher will fill a vacancy resulting from the retirement of Bankruptcy Judge Randall L. Dunn, who will step down January 20, 2017.  Mr. Hercher will receive the oath of office from Chief Judge Brown on January 23, 2017, at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Portland. A formal investiture will be held at a later date.
