How many copies do I need to file at the court?

Petitions - The court does not require any additional copies of a petition filed with the court. However, you are encouraged to keep a copy for your records. If you want a copy of the petition stamped with the date of filing for your records, you need to provide an additional copy, as well as a self-addressed envelope with adequate postage if you are filing by mail.

Motions and other pleadings - The court does not require any additional copies of any document filed with the court.  However, if any document related to a hearing is filed within three business days of the hearing, the filer of the document must notify the appropriate judge's chambers by telephone immediately after the filing of the document. Failure to notify chambers of the filing may result in the document not being read or considered. See LBR 9004-1(b).
